Pros
This is a financially strong company and most jobs are very stable. Good retirement benefits (especially if you stay a long time), good health care insurance and generally good collaboration amongst the different departments
Cons
There are far too many protocols and rules to follow. Managers really don't think outside of the box and usually they want you to simply "follow the protocol" as opposed to actually think for yourself. Getting new initiatives approved takes a ton of unnecessary work - it's nearly an act of Congress to get simple things changed. Also, if one hospital does something, all the hospitals have to do it the same way, even though patient populations vary quite a bit between locations. The protocol based system is really not always the best in healthcare.
