Pros

New company in the Pet industry that has tons of potential, the CEO /Owner is a visionary and wonderful to worth with and for. Young talented staff, and for this who contribute and work hard the future is very bright. Great products, and fantastic team culture.

Cons

Some in senior management think they are much more talented and experienced than they really are. Other than that no cons to add.

Pros

Cons

I worked in the Marketing Department but we didn't have a Head of Marketing- so almost all of the people had to report directly to the CEO who didn't have time or attention for our questions and needs. Our goals changed erratically week by week which made it difficult to succeed at the job. I only worked here for 3 months and slowly all of the benefits disappeared since the company was not profitable. There is no HR which is badly needed due to employee complaints and very uncomfortable employee relationships with leadership. No female leadership here and it often felt like a boy's club. Despite claiming otherwise, they do not offer a flexible workplace at all and even though the PTO is "unlimited" you are discouraged from taking it and feel nervous to ask. The attempts at company culture and fun often felt forced and uncomfortable (like when we all went to cryotherapy and the female employees couldn't wear bras). They had an awful COVID scare and still forced us to come into the office where no mask or vaccine mandates were in place and it felt like having employees in office was prioritized over our health or needs. The health insurance is expensive and not great and when I got hired they told me all employees get $300/month stipend towards insurance but they ended up taking that away for employees hired after me. I never got the stipend until after I was laid off and requested it. I negotiated for a fair salary but many of my coworkers were severely underpaid especially for the current market. A lot of the work is designated to interns or freelancers who work abroad for $7 /hour. I do think there are some really talented folks who are working here but I also know there are so many better places you can work in Austin with perks and where you will feel valued. This is why the company is now experiencing attrition. I was laid off due to the company not being profitable along with several of my coworkers.
