The environment involves constant monitoring, with very little trust in developers’ judgment. Developers are not given ownership or freedom to make decisions. Managers are often unwilling to listen or understand developers’ challenges and blockers. There’s minimal empathy or discussion around workload or feasibility. Management frequently agrees to client timelines without consulting the development team. Developers are later pressured to deliver within those unrealistic deadlines. Contributions and extra efforts by developers go unrecognized. There’s no formal appreciation or acknowledgment system from management. Developers are expected to provide weekend support without any additional compensation. Work-life balance is severely affected. Team members are often required to attend late-night client calls. If a call is missed, it results in unnecessary escalation to HR instead of understanding the reason.
