Pros
Great mission with passionate people.
Cons
There's a culture of secrecy, a lack of trust from co-founders, finances are mismanaged, pay is low, promotions and pay increases are nonexistent. Leadership is weak and often not available or present as they're always traveling or have special privileges like being remote, yet they require everyone else to be in office every day. Co-founders don't make an effort to connect with, mentor, or lead their employees. I'm at a loss for what the accounting and finance team actually does since they don't budget anything (team spending, purchases, hires, projects, travel, etc.) They opted to purchase a $6K coffee machine on a whim for a cofounder that doesn't even spend time in the office instead of purchasing technical equipment that was actually needed. Co-founders lied and continually told people that funding was coming for a year to get them to stay; and in March they laid off R&D and Engineering in the US as they move everything to Asia. They recently lost funding from one of their investors and had to furlough the entire LA team because they didn't have money to pay salaries.
