Pros

You will make some great friends here! The team is very welcoming and personable, they are better at socializing than working most of the time, which makes for a very fun office environment. Even the slack groups are entertaining. A very relaxed work environment, which has its pros, but also has many cons.

Cons

They are expanding teams that do not necessarily need expanding in order to look like a rapidly growing company. They will hire anyone, which leads to a few people doing all the work on large teams. When in office, it was easier to hold employees accountable, and you could rely on people to at least be available for questions since you could just walk over and ask them. When everyone started working from home, you could really see who was just there for the paycheck. Lots of the people on your team would be unreachable all day, so you would be stuck waiting on them to get around to logging back on in order to complete your own work. There is very little accountability, as managers are too scared to step on toes - they all want to be the 'fun' manager, so they all are. There is also lots of politicking if you want to move up. Promotions are not based on merit, but they are based on who the managers like the most, so you will likely be passed up for promotions a few times unless you play the game.

Pros

Frequent team outings and social events that help build relationships across the team. Generally a friendly, social environment!

Cons

The property management team is highly competitive when it comes to promotions, and I’ve seen BDRs remain in the same seat for years or eventually leave, as internal advancement opportunities can be limited. However, for top performers, there is promising upside, and you get to work with some of the best leaders in the organization. On the investment management team, leadership quality is more uneven, and there appears to be a lack of management experience, which has created gaps in coaching, accountability, and overall team development. As a result, performance outcomes have lagged, with the majority of BDRs and AEs struggling to consistently hit target. Team turnover has also been notably high, and leadership engagement only increased after a large portion of the team had already decided to leave, which by that point felt too late to rebuild morale or trust.
