Pros
The job and a2l program provided invaluable insight into custodial and facilities management. Gave great experience for a college graduate about the job market, corporate culture, and made one think about ones goals in life.
Cons
The a2l program is highly disorganised with most local managers still in the dark about what corporate expectations are of the new hires. New managers are hired under A2L and are told certain things they can expect as part of their new jobs, these expectations are not followed up on the local level. Additionally, local management seems to view entry level managers from a2l as cheap salary labor to fill any gaps they need. Management training and individual development are not provided adequately as promised in the hiring process. The company itself is highly disorganised, meaning managers usually work over 70 hours a week on average with very little appreciatation and for very low pay per hour. Working for aramark was a very thankless job with high hours and a poisoness corporate culture. All entry level managers I knew in the local region left the company or requested transfers. Managers of all levels where fired without warning, for little reason, and accounts constantly teetered on the edge of closing or closed. Sign up if you enjoy high stress work with little appreciatation.
