Too top down for growth - Program Manager Arlo Technologies Employee Review

Pros

As is the case with most orgs, the folks doing the work are great to work with, are kind, and talented.

Cons

Management is horrid. CEO is way too involved in the product and tries to control every minute aspect of what users see. This attitude chases away top talent from the company. VPs are spineless and will never stand up for what's right for users even if data or droves of employees suggest otherwise. There's so much mental gymnastics on the VP level to try and justify CEO decisions it's sad. I would not recommend working here if you want to grow and contribute to improving a product.

Pros

Almost all people you worked with

Cons

I would not recommend the QE department to anyone. The new director is the least effective manager I have worked with. Since taking over, she has significantly disrupted both the QE and development teams while implementing her own strategy, which has not delivered the expected results. From my perspective, team performance and morale have declined, and the company's stock price has fallen substantially during this period.
