Pros
Armstrong has incredible people! The tenure at the company is unbelievable and the place has a real family feel. In fact, it's family owned and operated. They are good people with values and morals. The family ownership genuinely cares about their employees and treats them with care and respect. Armstrong also has great pay and benefits including free services, PTO, 401k, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and they even have a pension plan! Some positions come with a company vehicle with commuting privileges. There are countless examples in the company of promoting from within, including at the senior leadership level. The president of the company meets directly with front line employees on a regular basis throughout the year and shares with them and listens to their ideas and he is always open to their concerns. Armstrong has local managers in all their markets to ensure the employees have direct access to management and the support they need on a daily basis, and to ensure that we are heavily engaged in the local communities. Armstrong does a lot in their communities including food bank assistance initiatives like Breaking Bread and veteran assistance programs like Healing Heroes. In addition to this, the family ownership makes regular large charitable donations in their communities to organizations like Salvation Army and YMCA. I would say one of the best in class for community involvement and charitable work.
Cons
Armstrong is not as flexible with work from home policies. The company highly values in person collaboration, which isn't a bad thing, but if working from home is important to you, you may find this frustrating.
