Arrive Logistics Response
7yHi there,
Thank you for taking the time to review your employment at Arrive Logistics. It is unfortunate that the relationship did not work out for either party in the long run, and I hope to shed some light on your comments in a way that feels true to your experience. We pride ourselves on transparency, especially when things aren't perfect!
In general, its is not fair to say that there are no benefits of working at Arrive Logistics. Our 500-person team has recently been named the #4 Best Work Place in Austin based on each employee's private survey responses, and we were named one of INC's Best Work Places in America for the second year in a row. We could not receive these accolades if the majority of our employees did not enjoy working here, and we are proud to be an employer of choice! That being said, we are always looking for ways to improve, and you hit on some important topics.
PTO - Although it may seem counter-intuitive, studies show that employees take less time off when they have "unlimited" PTO than when they have a set number of days. We want people to take time off, which is why we made the switch to a more traditional PTO structure. Arrive management encourages their employees to use all of their annual PTO!
Free lunch - We cater food from different local restaurants every week. We have not received negative feedback on the quality of Friday lunches, so we will conduct an internal survey to ensure this sentiment isn't echoed.
Hours - Our office hours are 7 AM to 5 PM, and that is consistently conveyed during the interview process & training. A 50-hour work week is not unusual across other industries, especially in sales where the harder you work, the more you are able to earn! Employees are able to take lunch whenever they choose; many people elect to eat at their desk so they are available to their customers and able to accomplish more in their work day. However, that is not a mandated policy. This is a sales organization, and we are very transparent about the hours & expectations. We also understand that this type of workload is not for everyone.
Parking - We have limited parking spaces on-site, and have secured access to parking for all employees that is jut a 3-minute walk from the office. These spots are free for employees, as Arrive covers 100% of the cost. We recently secured the location for our new HQ, and we will have on-site parking for every employee by Q1 of 2019!
Diversity - Arrive is both culturally & racially diverse, and both of our offices align with nationwide diversity percentages. While many of our employees were involved in fraternities or other college associations, we believe that extra-curricular involvement is a predictor of success post-graduation. You described a very specific demographic, but that could also be attributed to having an office in Austin, Texas where many people are from southern states. In a similar vein, our Chicago office is made up of many people from the Midwest!
Earning Potential - While we love to highlight what our top performers are able to accomplish, we also rely on company averages to give new hires realistic expectations for their first few years here. On average, sales reps earn $45K in their first year, $63K in their second year, and $100K+ in their third year. To meet or exceed these averages, it takes hard work & dedication. We get that, and we are transparent about the effort required to be a top-earner.
Turnover - Company-wide, our turnover is less than 20%.
As for the other items addressed, we will work internally to ensure we're always progressing positively and fixing problems along the way. At a company that is doubling year-over-year, things change quickly, and it is never our goal to create an uncomfortable work environment. Thanks again for your feedback, and best of luck with your future opportunities!
