Pros

Great training, top class colleagues and some very interesting projects. They invested a lot in my training, both financially and in terms of senior staff time. They have lots of sports clubs in London so great for active people - the ownership structure (a trust) is also great for not worrying about waking up in the morning to find your employer has been sold/taken-over/merged.

Cons

Sometimes I got stuck on 'dead-end' projects, occasionally I had to work harder than I like - particularly at evenings and weekends and even bank holidays - without paid overtime. However this was definitely outweighed by the pro's.

Pros

Working at Arup was a great experience, surrounded by smart, motivated, and mission-driven peers.

Cons

This may have since improved, but at least previously, the America's region felt rather second-class compared to UK. Most/all senior leadership, even in the US, was British.

Pros

Great company with lots of good benefits, interesting large scale projects, and a fantastic team of people to work with.

Cons

Be prepared to work long hours, overnights and weekends at times. At the end of the day, it is a consulting firm so the clients needs will always come first over employee health and wellbeing.
