Pros
Great coworkers and peers. Chance to work from home once a week as long as you have daycare your kids. Love the time off and the semi-flexible work schedule. Wish medical and other benefits were better.
Cons
Sad 401(k) match, especially for a company working in the retirement industry. Software and tools are extremely out of date, including Microsoft products and development tools. Making it impossible to upgrade our software applications easily. You don't have a computer with the right hardware to support multi-tasking without application failure or extreme slowness. There is a lack of continued education or training opportunities internally. To continue growing in your career you have to locate outside sources. There is no career growth or career path once you hit a senior level and promotions happen rarely for the people that can work and do their job well. There are multiple levels of management within certain departments, to the point where management is almost as populated as workers.
