Pros

Pay and reward is significantly better than non-pharma

Cons

The culture is the worst I’ve ever experienced in any organisation, by some way. It is individualistic, anti-collaborative and relentlessly inhuman. There is a shocking lack of accountability and rampant ‘slopey shoulder’ syndrome. Advancement and preferment is driven by favoritism - either you’re on the good list or you’re not. If not, your time is limited. The CEO communicates regularly about business performance. As he should. But he literally never communicates about anything else. This is most glaringly obvious when it comes to the company’s culture. His silence on this speaks volumes. The ability to do good work is further hampered by the lack of a coherent IT strategy. There’s a bizarre willingness to let a thousand flowers bloom and an internal market that drains business area budgets with no accompanying accountability for how the $$$ are spent. A shocking experience to have worked there.

Pros

The page is friendly to make an application.

Cons

As an experienced healthcare analytics and commercial leader, I applied to 104 U.S.-based positions at AstraZeneca between 2025 and 2026 that closely matched my background. Despite receiving interviews from peer organizations, I did not receive a single recruiter interaction. I fully understand the competitiveness of hiring, but such a complete lack of engagement raises questions about potential overreliance on AI screening or unintended bias.
