The COO and CFO openly dislike each other and take every opportunity to undermine and disparage each other to staff. The CFO spends a good amount of her time wandering the halls seemingly looking for something to do. The COO was initially hired as the CTO even though she has no technical background or acumen. Roughly 2 months after joining Athira she was elevated to the COO role when the COO assumed the CEO position upon the board's firing of the founder and previous CEO. Neither the CEO nor COO have demonstrated any capability in their new roles. There is no strategic plan and the current year's goals are as simplistic as "hire people" and "don't exceed your budget". If Athira is successful it will be because of the smart and capable research and clinical staff and in spite of the incompetent folks currently occupying the C-Suite.
