Pros
The food and beverage operators steps away made it much better, as the eatery was organic healthy food and the coffee was high quality. I don't think I got discounts there though, so it was expensive. The retail store was well manicured and had great products available for guest purchase. I liked their events but there was nothing for me to do.
Cons
The manager seemed aloof and completely unpassionate about her department and role. She was not a good fit to manage others. It can be really boring working here. I have a relevant, history related degree and volunteer experience and it's never enough to get considered for exhibits or historical archives management. I don't personally enjoy southern history so that was a con for me. The back offices are ghost town and very unexciting. The people have no social skills or overlap with other departments. No one will take you under their wing to get into a reasonable or desirable job within Atlanta Historical Society, making it pointless to work here.
