- For some reason one of the only retail companies with no distribution centre and therefore tasks it’s store staff with fulfilling online orders. You would think that the fact that the AG Facebook page is made up of approximately 70% complaints from people who had problems with their online order would change this, but alas, you were wrong. - The computer system is colossally old, hard to use and a massive time suck. If you want to feel less like a store manager and more like an administrator, apply now. - Also, apply now if you want to ascend to the level of store manager and nothing more, as head office is made up (from what I can tell) of 3 - 5 baby boomers who aren’t going anywhere soon and who have no interest in internal promotion or the creation of new opportunities - THERE IS ONLY ONE AREA MANAGER FOR 20+ STORES. ITS ABOUT AS GREAT AS IT SOUNDS. - As a result of the aforementioned lack of management, head office outsources tasks to store managers who are already busy and who aren’t being compensated for picking up their slack. Yay. - Potentially the worlds worst Visual Merchandising strategy; fill your stores to the brim with stock and purposefully build crooked piles on the floor.... it’s unsightly, cluttered and actively deters shoppers with prams and trolleys. At Christmas time I would challenge literally anyone from Australian Ninja Warrior to be able to walk comfortably and safely through an AG shop.
