Pros
You will work with the absolute best and brightest in Arizona. The team is amazing and they do amazing things. If Axosoft was anything, it was a collection of talent. When it was good, it was the best. You'd hop out of bed and not care that you drove through horrible traffic on the 101 because afterwards, you were working with people that you wanted to be around.
Cons
Unfortunately, the fish rots from the head. The current leadership of the company has pushed out most of the team members that made the company such a joy to work with. Their inability to change or adapt either strategically or personally has eroded the culture that used to be the highlight of the company. Instead of cooperation, there is cut-throat competition. You are constantly ranked against your peers in a never-ending spiral to the bottom. Perfection is expected and enforced with anything less putting you on the chopping block which can come even after a good yearly review with a raise and a bonus. Management reads and buys into all of the pop-journals that say that you have to be a jerk to make it and they will do so happily and without remorse to their employees making it a very toxic environment. It's similar to an abusive relationship and you won't even realize how bad it is/was until you get some distance.
