Pros

the interim VP of interim leadership is the gold star of what a project director should be. The interim leadership role takes one out of the overall political mine field that is rampant in health care. You are the "fixer' when you enter the organization. Most of the time, you are seen as the expert and this can be extremely rewarding and motivating.

Cons

When I began working with BE Smith, each consultant was seen as a creme de la creme employee. However, BE Smith has become very prescriptive in their policies...with a great amount of "do not do this or that" instead of motivating their associates. The project directors are more interested in "selling" the BE Smith product, instead of supporting those who make this company successful. The benefits are weak, there appears to be favoritism over who is assigned positions, and the concept of pairing up the client with the appropriate candidate has gone by the wayside. The mantra appears to be....get someone into that position so BE Smith can start getting paid. You are not paid for excellence, and there is little information about why and if there is an increase. Most of us do interim work because we enjoy the challenge and the opportunity to see so many different processes...and take the best to each of our assignments. BE Smith has forgotten that we are what makes this company successful

Pros

Has a wide range of opportunities and good website.

Cons

Low salaries, very poor communication and response to questions. Since the AMN partnership, much more focus on RN placement versus healthcare leaders.
