Cons
A lot of turnover within the organization. If you do a quick search on Linkedin on former employees you will see a large majority of them stayed less than a year. Management does play favorites and I have seen my fair share of good recruiters being fired over the struggling ones just because they rubbed John the wrong way. During my time there before I quit I have been through 3+ "restructuring" phases where John would fire anywhere between 1-5 recruiters without warning. This caused a lot of strain for the senior staff as we have to train up new junior recruiters on top of our already strenuous hours of work. After each firing the remaining staff are rewarded with pizza to cull the dreary aftermath. The office itself is very small with one small shared washroom that has no ventilation. With the proximity of each recruiter to each other it does get loud when several people are making phone calls to candidates which makes it sounds like we are working in a call center environment. There are unnecessary daily meetings to discuss about who is doing what. Quantity over quality is the idealism here. If you do not submit enough candidates, make enough phone calls, send enough messages you will get called out on it.This is all tracked and presented on these meetings. Though the commission structure pays out well for the work you have done it is ALWAYS delayed. You will not get paid for the work you've done until the client has paid BBG which takes 3 months. Even then you have to constantly remind finance and John to pay you for your commission as they constantly forget. As this is a 'low pay/high commission' structure it creates a lot of stress for recruiters that rely on commission to make a living. Do not let the positive reviews fool you. The company has been pushing new and current employees to write positive reviews to trod all over the real ones that are both neutral or negative. BBG is a good way to get your first taste into the world of recruitment but I would not see it as a long time career.
