Pros

1. Equips you with the skills best to tackle a toxic work environment 2. This place really makes you stronger mentally because of all the nonsense you have to deal with

Cons

1. Senior management's micromanagement comes with a side of jaw-dropping double standards—WFH is not allowed for the team members, while Assistant Managers and above indulge in the luxury of working from home whenever the mood strikes, no questions asked. 2. Workload here is nothing short of insane, reaching the heights of handling up to 5 engagements simultaneously in the worst-case scenarios. Whether the Executive Director is living in a fantasy world or not, it's time to recognize that team members are human, not programmed robots. 3. Don't even get me started on the employee benefits—they're in contention for the title of the absolute worst I've ever encountered. 4. The pantry situation is a whole other headache. 5. The salary offered is laughably inadequate for the level of nonsense one has to deal with here. 6. The Executive Director loves to preach about "open communication," but the reality is quite the opposite. It's all rainbows and butterflies if you nod along and agree every time, but dare to have a dissenting opinion, and she'll turn your life into a slow and painful descent into chaos. 7. Brings me to another point. Most of my teammates are bootlickers to win the favour of the ED. Those that are in the favourite books of my ED will find everything go very smoothly for them, despite their incompetence. I find it so disgusting. 8. Toxicity is practically the company culture. The Executive Director openly engages in gossip and enjoys pitting team members against each other—a move so low I can't even....

Pros

Compensation is OK. There are some really nice people in the organization to work with, but you have to find them.

Cons

If you are not part of the SWC "club" (company name prior to them joining BDO), good luck. Poor leadership!!! Practice lead talks to everyone like they are talking to a CEO, not relatable in most cases. No clear employee development plans. You are held accountable for things completely outside of your individual control. They stress incorporating AI into work strategy, but have no plan on what that looks like or how to do it and want everyone to formulate it because leadership has no roadmap. One has no control over where you want to take your career, yet you are expected to know everything, about everything. As a result, you become an expert of nothing! Work assigned rarely leverages skills, almost as if they throw darts to see who works on what.
