Pros

Met really talented and qualified people. Salary and benefits were competitive, but generally ok.

Cons

Since the petroleum shale acquisition in 2011/12, several management changes and the addition of several bureaucratic organizational layers led to a decline in meaningful communication across the board and generated a growing toxic culture. Most employees struggled to advance their careers due to the lack of development opportunities. The toxic culture created by some folks in leadership roles suppressed many talented individuals from fulfilling their full potential. BHP (from the lens of Petroleum) is a process driven company plagued by the desire to have too many meetings, mostly with no specific agendas. A company with talented executives who have struggled in the last few years to compose an effective and homogenous executive team that can inspire people.

Pros

Some good co-workers and good challenges

Cons

Leadership in the Tucson office is highly political and unprofessional. Feedback is not given directly. Local leadership is more interested in Linkedin posting and image, rather than anything of substance.
