Decent pay but no early career growth - Analyst Ball Corporation Employee Review

Pros

- Pay is good for Denver - Bonuses can be good

Cons

A recent tightening of internal mobility policies has made corporate career growth much harder. HR is now rigidly enforcing (and increasing) years-of-experience requirements, even for lateral moves that have hiring manager support. Many employees feel stuck with no clear path forward. On the tooling side, the software and IT environment is among the weakest I've seen at a company of this size. Heavy reliance on spreadsheets and slow, unreliable processes mean even basic work takes far longer than it should. You won't be building any technical skills here. If career growth is important to you, I'd look elsewhere.

Pros

There isn't a difficult job in the building. The pay is good for the area, especially since most of the positions don't require any specialized training before hiring in.

Cons

Some of the chemicals used throughout the plant, will cause irritation. Some on your skin, some in your airways. Mandatory overtime is the most annoying part of this work environment. The work schedule is 4 on, 4 off, however, you find out late in your shift on your 2nd day working if you will be forced any overtime during your days off (you can be forced up to 2 of your 4 days off). There are also conversion and maintnencance days that are mandatory overtime, in addition to the forced production overtime days. While these days add a nice chunk of change to your paycheck, they make it extremely difficult to plan ANYTHING.
