Pros

I’ve been here almost a month, and I can honestly say that Bamboo is a company that cares about its employees and people. It’s a very communicative and collaborative place where you feel encouraged to do great work; not because you’re hitting a quota, but because you’re surrounded by excellent people who care about you and the company. Bamboo has fantastic values, a fantastic product and fantastic people. I hope to stay here for a long time. Benefits are pretty great in general - paid paid time off (annual reimbursement of up to $2,000 of PTO/vacation expenses), generous 401k match, and a generous PTO policy. The company also has no debt, so it’s not forced to listen to outside voices when making business decisions and has a lot more freedom to develop and grow how they want.

Cons

Not a lot so far. I guess the health insurance options aren’t phenomenal, but in 2025, that’s kind of how it is everywhere. It’s a lot larger than the company I was at previously, so with that, certain tech systems and teams are complicated and it can be hard to keep track of who owns what piece of software development.

Pros

At the end of my tenure, I really have no pros.

Cons

I'm pretty sure I was "quietly laid off", in the effort of sneaky downsizing without having to actually do formal layoffs. This place was a godsend and a great place to work on my small independent team, and I did great. Then they did massive restructuring, added layers of hierarchy, added process, and basically just starting running a creative team like a line of factory workers. I had a horrible time with my manager on so many different levels, and felt validation when others would reflect the same, but I reflect what everyone else says - narcissistic, micro managing leadership that I now understand play manipulation games. I was put on a performance improvement plan and finally quit due to burnout, stress, and the dissolution of a role and a team that I had from before. They constantly push for solutions and deliverables, but I never really saw anything I delivered actually get treated and implemented with respect. Company policies and siloed team policies and procedures stymie actual effectiveness, and it seems like the leadership acts as your strict grade school teacher rather than having your back.
