4yThank you for your feedback. While BankSouth does pay 100% of the employee share of our HMO, dental, short & long term disability, life & dependent life insurance, our associates do pay for coverage for their dependents. Our rates each year are determined based on the "experience" (aka claims paid) in the prior year. If our pool of Georgia banking employees experiences a high rate of usage of the medical plan in a prior year (ie. high claims dollars paid out), that usage is going to be reflected in the rates we are charged in the next plan year. Likewise, if we are blessed with a year in which we have low usage, our rates don't rise as high. As an example, because of low usage in 2021 due to Covid-19, the Bank gave everyone their medical & dental coverage "for free" for the month of January, 2021.
Providing growth opportunities, development opportunities and career pathing are all goals we have to ensure the future of the Bank and retention of our talent. With the addition of HR & other staff, many parts and pieces are now in process, but its not something that will happen overnight. We will continue to work to provide as many opportunities as we can for folks who want to make working with BankSouth their long-term career goal.
