Pros

Aside from being able to bring your dog to work and having two beautiful offices, one in NYC and one in Columbus,Ohio the health benefits are by far the best I’ve had and they cover 100% of the premium. Free BarkBox subscription for your dog is a plus. The design team is incredible and the backbone of the success of the product. There are also a ton of really incredible, talented and smart people at Bark, most of those people have been around for years and really care for dogs and the old mission. Please know there is no culture, no positivity and no happiness there anymore. Which is incredibly sad and depressing especially knowing how much talent and passion is/was there.

Cons

I could write a novel. While there is a lot of opportunity and exposure which is great for your resume, there is also a lot of favoritism, inefficient processes, lack of organization, no leadership training, lack of diversity, unfair pay- a huge disproportionate gap in pay between locations and levels. Internal promotions make around 20-40% less than outside hires. Don’t speak up and provide your opinion to best serve the team or customers- the bottom line is much more important and you will be on the chopping block. If you’re rude, a man, and on Supply Chain, you will likely get a promotion. There are constant payroll issues and discrepancies. Major layoffs in the past 5 months, over 200+ people- mostly talented and respected people were let go. There is nepotism, but that’s the least of the worry now. They laid off all their DE&I leaders in the 1st round of layoffs earlier this year…eek. The two senior leaders of HR, Scott Sterling and Aarti Sharma are jokes, they set all these layoff meetings and term chats without making their calendars private...rookies. There’s also been a pause on all promotions, hiring, merit increases, equity and lunches, likely so the C suite and their favorites can indulge in a fat paycheck. Meeker and the CFO are taking all the money with their salary increases and bonuses- no hate, I’d do the same! #treasurechestofcash #itspublicinformation

Benefits were good but compensation was a tad low from when i worked there. Things could have changed in the few years since.
