Pros

There are no pros working for Bath ASU

Cons

Avoid. I have never worked for a company where so many people handed in their notice without having a job to go to, simply because they couldn't handle the constant bullying and abuse anymore. In my opinion, no matter how strong and resilient you are, this company will eventually grind you down. Pay is below average if you factor in the perks that other companies offer. Below average holiday allowance for a company of that size. You will get your bonus reduced if you are off work due to sickness. (They use a formula which doubles, triples and quadruples the days you were off work due to sickness, making them look a lot more than they actually are) Have a good look at all the negative reviews, they are 100% true. The positive reviews on Glassdoor are written by senior managers who have an invested interest to persuade you to work there. There is blatant favouritism and nepotism. You have to be extremely careful who you trust in this company. Anything you say, even if it is constructive feedback and you are genuinely just trying to do what is best for the company and patients, it will be reported to senior management and will be used against you. When I applied at Bath Asu, there was only one negative review on Glassdoor. If the negative reviews which are on Glassdoor now, had been there when I applied, I would have never even considered BathAsu as an employer. Hindsight is a beautiful thing. So please avoid, even if you are desperate!

Bath ASU Response

Thank you for taking the time to write your review. We are truly sorry that you seem to have had a far from ideal experience working with Bath ASU. Something we would not want any employee to feel whilst working for us. We believe we are unique in our quarterly bonus scheme, something that is available to all staff past their probation period which is a way for everyone to benefit from the growth of the company. To determine if a bonus is awarded we do use the Bradford Factor scoring for sickness (you will not receive the bonus if you have a BF score of over 45 which is a formula based on how many occasions of sickness and how many days off for sickness over a rolling 52-week period) as well as an employee’s performance. Which we feel is a fair way to determine who is eligible for a bonus across all different departments. We are also proud to not just pay a Living Wage but above the Living Wage as well as offering an annual leave allowance that is above the recommended UK holiday entitlement. So, we are sorry to hear you were not happy with your package. We do not discredit the negative reviews on our Glassdoor profile (or the positive ones) as we feel these past and current employees obviously had a reason to feel like they did. Feedback that we take on board to continue to improve everyone’s experience working at Bath ASU. We truly wish that employees would bring this feedback to us whilst working here so we can discuss these issues with you in person. I note that you stated that your feedback previously may not have been taken in the best way, something that we would like to investigate in more detail to help make positive changes within the company. We understand that you are a former employee, but we would still like to investigate this occurrence for you, please send an email directly to our Managing Director Mark Roderick (mark.roderick@bathasu.com).

Pros

I joined Bath ASU at a particularly difficult time in my personal life, having recently experienced a bereavement. From day one, the senior management team showed genuine compassion and continuous support, even during moments when I was struggling the most. Their understanding and willingness to help made a huge difference and allowed me to settle into my role as Shift Lead in aseptic manufacturing with confidence. The company is currently expanding and going through significant positive changes, which has given me the chance to help shape the culture within our department. Being able to contribute to how the team grows and evolves has been incredibly rewarding. The facilities are excellent—modern, well-maintained, and designed to support high-quality aseptic production. The production team itself is diverse, friendly, knowledgeable, and highly professional. It’s a collaborative environment where people genuinely care about the work they do and the impact it has. I’m very proud to be part of the journey Bath ASU is on, especially as we prepare to expand into a new facility. It’s an exciting time to be here, and I feel fortunate to grow with the company.

Cons

The only negative is the lack of parking space available, especially on a late shift.

Pros

The company pays salaries to people who need to earn a salary

Cons

Does not adhere to correct health and safety prossesses to support employees or the patients that they are responsible for. Disrespectful in attitudes to some staff. A variety of senior staff allowed to treat junior staff in unacceptable ways, unfair treatment, lack of understanding of many health and safety processes and procedures and the their control. Far too much overlooking of issues of disrespect of staff, favouritism and unfairness in treatments. Many senior members of of staff in positions they should never have attained due to unsuitable behaviors, personal traits, unsuitable levels of personality.......just because you have a degree does not qualify you as suitable to be in a role.
