Pros

The people are very friendly and professional. Employees work hard and care about the success of the company. Bayer pays very well, has good benefits, and a lot of career opportunity if you are willing to relocate. There are many good mid level managers.

Cons

Work/life balance can be an issue, for some departments more than others. There are two big cultural issues at Bayer: the good old boys club is the first one, which is enabled by the second. That is the company values are endorsed by senior management but consistently applied or modeled at all. There seem to be power plays and favoritism. Rumors suggest a very divisive executive group that is dysfunctional. This behavior appears to be not only tolerated, but encouraged.

Pros

Better pay than other companies My team - full of hardworking and knowledgable individuals.

Cons

Leadership/Management - can be micromanaging at times and not a lot of guidance/resources being provided. Projects can change swiftly at Bayer, and most of the times there's no background context given. Work/life balance - asked to be "flexible" with schedule for last-minute requests, then criticized for having life/responsibilities outside of work. Also, these last minute requests reflect poor planning on management. Lack of team morale - seems like it's all work and not a lot of play. Burnout culture and not a lot of incentives to perform better.
