Pros
The office is gorgeous as the employees. Hello, The owner could be a model! As with most things in life, you get what you give and I gave it my all. I loved learning how to work in this world, I honestly came in a little clueless and I left this internship (my 2nd) with a better understanding of what goes on in a real PR/Social Media office. I graduated in May and will always be grateful to the Beach House Girls team that took the time to get to know me!
Cons
Upper management is hit or miss. There were a few girls I felt I could go to with questions, but most of the time I felt they were annoyed if I asked a question. Their intern training was heavy on style and of little substance IMO. The owner is really aloof and a bit superficial. She is unprofessional and had us doing weird tasks that according to my advisor may be illegal since it did not directly pertain to my learning because they were personal errands…more that a few of the interns I worked with realized that if we were not working there, the business could not exists. I get it, shipping packages is an intern right of passage--but tossing us a few pitching tasks does not make up for the lack of on-the-job education we should have been provided...My mentor was super sweet but constantly stressed out and I realized I could not work there long term as I would not want to have that be my reality.
