Pros

None, the pay was somewhat satisfactory, but there are no pros I can legitimately come up with.

Cons

Company fired me without any notice and without a true substantial reason. All things cited were petty, childish, and completely out of pocket. During a full team End of Week meeting, one of the head managers cursed out myself and another employee with degrading expletives and did not show a single ounce of professionalism. Prior to this meeting, the manager was upset that I took a 10 minute break from my desk and threatened termination to anyone else who does this. During onboarding, I was provided with little to no training and thrown into a territory I had no idea what to do with. All my training came from other employees in my same role. Despite my shortcomings, I was trying my best to make it work and made efforts to better myself, but working for this organization brought me nothing but stress and a total desire to move away from sales. They fired me before my sign on bonus as well, which I have heard they have done to others in the past. Additionally, you are expected to be there from 8:30AM-5:30PM. Only one day remote, and they have threatened numerous times to remove it from everyone at the company for petty reasons.

Pros

One thing I genuinely appreciate about working at Bectran Inc. is that engineering here is not treated like a feature factory. Engineers are trusted to think deeply about the “why” behind a solution, not just the implementation. A lot of conversations happen before a feature is built — architecture discussions, edge cases, scalability concerns, product impact — and that level of involvement makes the work feel meaningful. I’ve personally enjoyed the ownership culture. You can go from identifying a problem to influencing the actual product and technical direction at a granular level. The problems are rarely repetitive, which keeps the work intellectually engaging. If you enjoy solving complex business and technical challenges, there is a lot to learn here. Another thing worth mentioning is that good ideas are taken seriously regardless of title. Thoughtful discussions and reviews are valued more than rushing delivery, which creates strong engineering habits over time.

Cons

This is not the easiest environment if you prefer highly defined tasks or constant direction. Many of the problems are ambiguous, messy, and require patience to fully understand. That can sometimes create pressure because solutions are not always obvious and expectations can feel high. The pace of problem-solving and ownership may feel overwhelming for people who are not comfortable operating in uncertainty.
