Pros
It had a great 60% discount on items which made it cheap to replace all of your needs. The work was super easy, especially in the retail shops where there were never customers. I was able to work in multiple locations to get more hours while I was in different cities and during covid. My manager used to let me leave early and pay me for the whole time.
Cons
I worked for 3 years without talk of a pay increase, the only way to get a pay increase was by becoming full time where you make 50c more. When minimum wage went up, they refused to keep those minimal pay increases and put everyone at minimum. I was promised another contract which was spoken about for ages which never happened. Managers brought you into lies to keep you from talking to the higher ups in the company as you became an accessory to their bad behaviours. Customers were rude and vile in any outlet store. Personally my manager wouldn't do anything and would sit in the back the entire time, making you do everything until they left early. On the other hand, the Auckland regional managers would be micro managers and wouldn't let you have any freedom with how you sell. They also tried to not pay me while I was at work because they didn't schedule a key holder on and left me outside the store for over an hour and tried to not let me get paid for it. You will get used and abused if you show them you can do anything extra. The employees and management are so toxic to each other and their employees, they don't care about anyone who is working there and will do anything to save money and show you how un-valuable you are.
