Pros
- Decent salary for social workers with bachelors degree - Very large agency that provides services in both child welfare and mental health - A rather positive work environment amongst staff, despite stress - Really good experience, but not for the long haul
Cons
- Values clients way more than staff. Completely burn out the staff to serve the clients - Do not offer good benefits: bad health insurance, no retirement, no education assistance, but does have decent time off - On call is terrible, pays way too low, and supervisors offer minimal support while case managers run all over the city all hours of the day and night - Leadership does not really “lead” the organization well and are very passive - Agency does not value professional development at all. You could be here for years without really growing as a social worker
