To begin with, the high Glassdoor rating is artificially inflated. It rose to 4.5 after the HR team ran an internal competition incentivising employees to leave positive reviews, with prizes including iPads and spa days. The most obvious cons are: 1. Low pay - bonuses are essentially non-existent, despite being promised in the offer. 2. Underwhelming talent pool - only around 10% of the company demonstrates genuine work ethic and ambition; the remaining 90% appear disengaged and uninterested in their work. 3. Limited learning opportunities - as a result of point 2, there is very little to learn from colleagues, so be prepared for some serious professional stagnation. 4. Lack of maturity - despite being founded 10 years ago, the company still operates like a startup, with an underdeveloped product and a lack of established processes. 5. Toxic management - there’s a pattern of patronising and humiliating behaviour towards employees.
