Pros

-Mission helping children with software -Mix of tech and non-tech people (no tech bro culture). Team is invested in mission -Inclusive culture for non-binary and LGBTQIA+ -Good benefits for size of company like home office cost reimbursement and 401k match -Remote friendly

Cons

Debated submitting, but decided it’s good to have a real review on Glassdoor along with the many fake ones here. The mission of “helping children” is used to cover up many problems at Binti. -Unstable/revolving door - people constantly disappear and “not work out” for “insert whatever reason here” including top level management -Diversity - Company says it prioritizes BIPOC and building diversity, but the only black leader they ever hired left in a few months… they are happy to have a “diverse” team as long as those people are the bottom rung -CEO is very controlling and tells people exactly how to do their jobs in very condescending way. Company value of “embrace the best idea” should be replaced by “embrace the CEO’s idea” -CEO decided to work with a partner that does not uphold our mission - the mission is the reason I’m here, and we are putting $ over mission -Company direction always changing, and there is no board or accountability for CEO/management -Work life balance - working 12 hour days and weekends while putting on a happy face and pretending you’re only working 40 hours

Pros

The company overall has a strong product & mission – and strong people behind it. They're an empathetic, high-performing, talented group of people. There's a lot of opportunity for growth within the company, with people staying for 5+ years and taking on different roles along the way.

Cons

There's a lot to do – but if you are excited by the mission and willing to work hard, it's great.

Pros

- Mission driven company where the product is genuinely something that benefits the world - Hiring decisions have (historically) led to the hiring of skilled and highly driven employees who care about the aforementioned mission. - Compensation is fairly generous (but used to be more so) - High degree of coordination and interfacing between various teams - Nice office for the 2 days a week we're required to be in office

Cons

Binti regularly fires or otherwise loses incredibly talented people, with no care given to how that might impact current teams. Workloads are incredibly heavy and only handled by virtue of the remaining employees being very passionate about the work that they do. The company is willing to make actively bad decisions for 99% of the company if it is what the CEO wants, and the CEO is unwilling to admit that that's what's going on. The most painful thing is that despite appearing, by all accounts, to be a lovely and inclusive company, Binti's executive suite is very white and clearly has issues with black employees standing up for themselves. I've heard black coworkers talk about being told to smile more in meetings, or being told to stop sending messages in slack entirely because they weren't positive enough. If you need to get your bag, there's worse places to do it. Better Binti than Raytheon. But if it looks like a dream come true, be prepared for the nightmare that follows shortly. Also initially I wasn't going to post this, but then I saw the most recent flood of dubious reviews pour in. For anyone curious, Binti didn't get better all of a sudden. If anything, it got worse.
