Pros

- will work with some of the most talented engineers and designers around - have an opportunity to build two businesses at the same time with the outdoor markets and emerging markets (and all the challenges that come with doing two things at once) - generally transparent culture with tight knit team that's been together for a while - office in dumbo, which is a great neighborhood - company genuinely cares about having a positive impact on the world

Cons

- company has struggled with some growing pains, primarily things like QA processes, supply chain challenges, some culture and HR issues - ambitious product launch and growth plans have required a lot of work and long hours for extended periods, which has strained team resources and morale more recently - trying to do a lot of things and not as well resourced as some other 'start ups', means things can feel pretty lean at times which can be painful - young team, mostly a pro, somewhat inexperienced management, sometimes a con

Pros

The work environment is incredibly positive, with everyone being kind, helpful, and genuinely invested in your well-being. The workload is manageable, especially compared to previous roles I've held, and there's no micromanagement. As long as projects are completed on time, you're given the freedom to manage your schedule however you see fit. This flexibility, combined with the supportive atmosphere, makes it a great place to work.

Cons

The outdoor and recreation market can be unpredictable, with some years being highly successful and others less so. Additionally, there's limited room for career growth within the company due to its smaller size. Unlike larger organizations, such as the Big Four, promotions don't happen annually. While this isn't a concern for me, it could be for others seeking rapid advancement.

Pros

It’s a small but growing company so there are opportunities to learn new things. Coworkers are nice and genuinely care about you.

Cons

Leadership is usually overwhelmed and rarely have a plan. They react to challenging situations rather than prevent them.
