Pros
Decent stability. According to LinkedIn, median employee tenure is 3.1 years. Compensation is in line with the market.
Cons
Biocare Medical is a 4th place company. The immunohistochemistry (IHC) market is dominated by Leica, Roche (Ventana Medical Systems), and Agilent (Dako). Then there's Biocare making up 5% of the market. And that's according to the company's own optimistic numbers, so reality could be even more paltry. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for underdogs trying to disrupt major players, but Biocare doesn't stand a chance to move up in the market. Sure, there are a few minor advantages (slightly better customer service, slightly more flexible/open instruments), but that's not nearly enough to get customers to switch. Their protocols are already all set with the instrument they're currently using, and bigger competitors have established partnerships with other vendors to offer more integrated solutions (Leica and RNAscope, for example). Biocare will always be the runt of the litter, picking up whatever table scraps they can. Definitely not the place for salespeople who have any desire to sell something remotely exciting/interesting/innovative.
