Pros

I have worked for BioControl for over two years now and I love it here. The corporate culture is very nice and my manager is one of the calmest people I know. This company was very good as they worked with me when I had some serious health problems even though I was a new employee. My first year here I needed to have more than one surgery and ended up taking around 3 months total of medical leave. Instead of this hindering my career, when I came back I felt appreciated and missed. My job is exciting and I wasn't overwhelmed when I first got here – responsibilities were added on at an appropriate pace and they continue to grow.

Cons

Some people are not happy with their level of compensation.

Pros

BioControl is a growing company in the stable business of food safety testing. As a long-term employee with the company, I have been treated very well both personally and professionally. I have been given opportunities that I don’t think that I would have had at other companies. Benefits are very competitive and there are several fun social events during the year (such as an annual picnic, frequent barbecues, and a great holiday luncheon with generous door prizes). The office is clean and modern and being located in Factoria, we have free parking!

Cons

For myself, I can’t identify any cons that would not normally occur in most companies, because a perfect one doesn’t exist. I think that if you work hard and do your best, the company more than meets you halfway. Upper management can be very direct, and I prefer that. For the times I have been critiqued, it was deserved, and I know I’m better at my job because of it. That being said, I do not ever remember a time when it wasn’t a two way conversation about what happened and why. The longevity here is not because of any “syndrome” (that most people today would even know about, much less relate to), but because it’s a good place to work. The job market is improving, yet I see no evidence of a mass exodus here. It’s only too bad that employers are not allowed to respond in kind to some criticisms, I think there would be a little more clarity to a few of the pictures being painted here.
