Seemed really promising, but turned out to be Cutthroat - Communications Bird Buddy Employee Review

Pros

Hybrid work model provides flexibility and a better work-life balance. No fixed work schedule allows employees to organize their day more independently, which can reduce stress and improve productivity. Friendly and professional co-workers create a supportive atmosphere, where collaboration and teamwork are generally positive experiences. If you need any additional resources and if you justify the cause, there is a decent chance of getting it approved (This is super depandent on how good is company doing).

Cons

The organization emphasizes cost-effectiveness, yet the C-suite frequently makes highly impulsive decisions. Significant investments are made in hiring people and new platforms, only to be followed by large-scale layoffs and the cancellation of those same initiatives. In one instance, executive raises were approved, only to be followed 2 weeks later by staff reductions attributed to budget constraints. Constant reworking and revising of already completed tasks and previously made decisions. It often takes a full day just to implement changes that could have been clarified from the start. If decision-makers took a bit more time upfront to finalize and discuss the end version of deliverables, the team wouldn’t need to make so many after-the-fact adjustments. Keeping up with this is quite difficult, and at times it also feels somewhat disrespectful toward the working time of other employees. Due to this kind of management you are forced to force others. Strategic direction changes at an rapid pace, creating an environment in which many employees appear to operate under constant stress. Divergence from the C-suite’s perspective, or even offering constructive criticism, is often interpreted as a challenge to authority and may result in fast dismissal without prior notice. During recruitment, expectations are presented in an overly positive manner; however, once employed, many aspects of the role and organizational culture differ significantly from what was initially communicated.

Pros

I had a wonderful experience working at Bird Buddy for the past two years. The company is filled with genuinely kind, talented, and supportive people who truly care about both the product and each other. One of the things I appreciated most was how communicative and transparent leadership is — the weekly all-hands meetings with the CEO helped everyone stay informed, aligned, and connected to the company’s vision and growth. Management was always approachable and supportive, and HR consistently went above and beyond to help employees feel heard and supported. The company is constantly evolving in exciting ways, which created a fast-paced and innovative environment where there was always an opportunity to learn and grow. Bird Buddy also offers excellent benefits and does a great job prioritizing employee well-being. Pros: • Supportive and kind coworkers across the company • Transparent leadership and strong communication from executives • Weekly all-hands meetings with the CEO • Helpful, responsive HR team • Great benefits and employee support • Innovative and constantly evolving company culture • Opportunities to learn and grow professionally

Cons

Like many fully remote companies, it can sometimes be challenging to feel fully integrated or connected day-to-day. However, Bird Buddy does a really great job creating opportunities for employees across the globe to connect virtually and collaborate as a team.

Pros

- in the early days really exciting amount of development opportunities for new ideas - everyone was in full belief of our mission to connect people with nature - leaders were true believers and role models for the workers - international collaboration and travel - opportunities to showcase the mission yourself at trade shows and public events - learn about developing a product from beginning to end

Cons

- founders completely imploded and split up and the effects rain down upon the true contributors - CEO went from inspiring, a believer and someone we all trusted to someone lifeless and willing to do anything to profit (including firing many people due to personal differences, not performance) - all new ideas and goals were replaced with bogus corporate-style goals and false positivity - culture went from great and vibrant to fearful and quiet - they want talent but aren’t willing to pay for it - communication became absolutely awful - micromanaging by founders
