Pros
If you haven't experienced a startup before, this is a good crash course. You'll learn a lot in a short amount of time as long as you're okay with sacrificing your mental health. It was worth it early on and I was eventually able to leave and take on a leadership role at another company. In hindsight, I would have left after the first year though.
Cons
A lot of the bottlenecks started with leadership. The problem was that by the time you wrapped your head around how to solve things, executives would change their mind again. Dishonest, misguided, and unfortunate for folks who put effort into their job. Major warning if you're a minority - do not work here. There's a lot of talk about diversity but zero representation. There are some leaders who will have your back but do not be surprised if you're passed up for opportunities even if you put in the work (and keep an eye out for who they give them to instead). Lastly, bullying in the workplace by management, senior executives, and c-suite. I could piece a scrapbook together of all the screenshots I have. Great reminders for why I left.
