Pros

Your work matters here, and what we do works. Our outcomes for clients are very high level. You get paid to go rafting, hiking, and mountain-biking. I have never enjoyed my work more than I do here. In 6 years at blueFire, I've never dreaded going to work in the morning. Management is empathetic and passionate. The demand for client placement in the program is very high, there's lots of career growth opportunities and job stability. The kids are fun and brighten your day. In spite of the challenges they face, they're really great kids. It's a privilege to work with them and help them grow.

Cons

You won't be paid highly in this industry. It's not a program-specific issue, all direct care staff in mental health are underpaid, so know that coming in. The hours are long and the work, while rewarding, is challenging.
