Pros

A wonderful place to work. Great work-life balance (for real). Flexible hours. Remote work. Flat structure where you have real ownership of the things you work on.

Cons

None that I can think of.

Pros

- friendly, collaborative and supportive culture - provides an excellent work-life balance - if you're looking to be creative and expand your skillset and/or interests, the small size of the company allows for you to have your hands on multiple projects - the industry is part technology, part non-profit, part publishing and entertainment - an incredible combination for those who want to work in both the creative arts and new technologies - BNC helped to launch my career; from the skills that I acquired while interning to the networking opportunities and support I received, I would not have gained the successes and career opportunities that I currently have without having started here first

Cons

- it is a small team, which can provide excellent opportunities for those looking to be creative, but will be limiting if you're looking for a straight-cut, corporate gig where you can climb a ladder, so to speak

Pros

An incredible group of smart, funny, creative people who, for reasons best known only to themselves, have decided to use their technology smarts to help publishers and book retailers in Canada. On one hand you get a great cultural mission -- make the Canadian book industry better/faster/smarter. On the other hand, big data warehouses, analytics, simulations, eBooks and trading networks. Not much hierarchy, lots of great conversations and brainstorming, zero attitude. Everyone gets to contribute. Good professional development programs. Works with just about every publisher, agent, distributor and retailer in Canada, so you get a great birds-eye view of the whole industry. Cool office, nice office dog.

Cons

Lots going on -- you can get overloaded with projects.
