Pros
- There are some kind, genuine, smart people there. Co-workers become friends. Half the people still live and exhibit the original values of the company.
Cons
- The majority of those kind, smart, genuine people are individual contributors just waiting for the other shoe to drop. - Need to be quicker to market and leaner in core functions resulting in loss of jobs and terrible work environment. - Not just lack of career opportunities, lack of career continuity. Majority of internal jobs do not go to most qualified candidate. Age old tale of trading knowledge and experience for cheaper and lesser quality. - So many re-orgs in a short amount of time left knowledge gaps and broken processes all over the place. - Can't get out of it's own way. Engineering company, over-engineering everything but dropping the ball on the fundamentals of getting a product to market.
