The students and the academic experience are outstanding. Elite learning experience and a great community for faculty and students. Good COVID response for staff.
Cons
If you are joining as a staff member it is important to remember that this is a student/faculty centric university. The decisions are made for you and you are expected to show and do as asked. No promotions unless they need you to do more work for them. Pay is not enough as to how expensive living in the city is. If you are a person of color be prepared. This is one of the most racist and culturally unaware places I have ever worked in. Everything is preformative and is done so they can say we did something. You will face micro and macro aggressions from superiors and coworkers. Departments are different but the majority of them are predominantly white and will dismission non-white culture.
