Pros
I actually last worked in 2014 (wasn’t an option to go past 2021) The staff I worked with was wonderful and had a really good supervisor. It was rewarding working with the clients in the home, community and drop in center. Certainly was a stepping stone in my social work career.
Cons
Pay was low for all the job duties that was required on top of working with some high need clients. Paperwork, a lot of driving, high need clients and job duties compounded some high stress for me. Benefits were decent with the health insurance and 401k. The PTO system wasn’t that great considering much needed time off for self care especially working a high stress job.
