Pros

Pay is ok Work Life Balance is ok, that's about it....

Cons

Absolutely no training, manager takes countless days off and leaves early for allergies, toothache, and every lame excuse in the book. On top of that has all the red flags of poor leadership: conflict avoidance, my way or the highway, self centered, poor communication, micromanagement (I'm literally timed on how long I went to the bathroom and followed when I go on breaks by management and their cronies...) depending on your title will determine how you are treated. Company itself is stuck in the past, 30 minute lunches, 15 minute breaks no uses calendar invites, no room for growth or opportunity to learn. Nepotism/Favoritism abounds if you aren't part of the "in" crowd they will employ bullying tactics to get you to quit, gossip and slander behind your back, and purposely try to frustrate and annoy you. They don't care about their employees at all. Company is selling off properties and not making investments in existing properties that are overpriced and falling apart.

Pros

Processes are efficiently streamlined, thorough, and in depth taught to everyone to succeed. WAMR is the best thing EVER created for any manager, definitely the most helpful tool week over week to have in the industry HANDS DOWN. I've created my own for my current company and continue to utilize it. Training department is fantastic, innovative, and always looking for ways to improve our company across the board. Conference is a nice time to connect with everyone and meet new people. If you want to know how to manage an asset, this is definitely the place that'll show you through and through what to do. They highly encourage and teach managers how to effectively utilize their teams to allow for smooth flow of operations. It's not just YOUR job, everyone has a dedicated set of tasks to handle and follow through on, and they constantly remind manager's of this to reduce burnout from taking on the weight. There's always someone in your corner, but they also demand excellence and will let you honestly and openly know where you're slipping, and how to improve. The constant feedback and the pressure behind it makes you want to excel even more. I wouldn't be able to do what I do now without them. Them allowing you to be self sufficient in your role is unmatched by any other company I've experienced so far. I LOVE being self sufficient and they give you the access and permissions to do just that. Lastly, they are at the forefront system wise. They step in to work with system user interfaces to ensure all operates as it should and develops/proposes ideas to be sure that we don't experience issues with processes that need to take place, or that we would like to take place. Best Entrata interface I've seen in the industry.

Cons

Burnout from maintenance issues is real. Depending upon your owner, you may or may not be able to tend to the true needs of the community with issues that can hinder community successes. (They still teach you very well how to overcome those though).

Pros

Leadership that actually supports you. The leadership team is approachable, responsive, and genuinely invested in both performance and people. You’re not left to struggle — support, guidance, and problem-solving are real here. Strong, healthy company culture. Brookside has built a culture of teamwork, accountability, and pride in the work. You’re treated like a valued contributor, not a number, and it shows in how people collaborate and communicate. Clear expectations and strong systems. The company is well-run, organized, and strategic. Expectations are clear, processes make sense, and you’re given the tools and resources needed to succeed. Growth and development opportunities. Brookside invests in training and professional development and encourages people to grow. If you want to improve, take on more responsibility, or advance, the company supports that. High standards with real support. Brookside cares about doing things the right way — for residents, owners, and employees. They set the bar high, but they also give you the support needed to meet it.

Cons

Honestly, very few. Like any growing company, things move fast and expectations are high, but that’s also part of what makes it a great place to work.
