Do not believe anything they tell you. They tell you they have a great culture, in reality it is a cult that does not permit outsiders. They tell you they have company values like "be a good human". In reality, the "be a good human" is optional if you've been at Buildertrend longer than 5 years. They gutted 150+ people overnight on a Monday right before the holidays, and despite what they will say in response to this, it wasn't carefully considered. If you look at those laid off, they were either former CoConstruct, hired in 2022, or had a salary above a certain cutoff. They didn't "carefully consider" anything other than laying off hard workers that just happened to be outside of Nebraska that made reasonable wages.
They will claim they "focus on the customer". However, they do not listen to customers, they just assign work that random product people think is what customers want. In reality, customers continue to abandon the product because nothing they request is added. They'll tell you to "embrace the pace". The reality is you'll be expected to be a ticket taker/closer. It doesn't matter if you create numerous bugs, just so long as you look like you're completing work.
The culture is built around a cult and alcoholism. This isn't an exaggeration, this is pure reality that even long-term employees will tell you. Their town hall meetings are very much the executives clapping themselves on the back with a rousing cult leader speech from the CEO. Afterwards, they'll provide you with all the beer you can drink in the hopes you'll drown your sorrows from being overworked and underappreciated. Every once in a while they'll even provide a pizza party to show their appreciation. Unfortunately, that appreciation doesn't come in the form of pay raises, bonuses, or any other tangible benefits.
No doubt some HR person will try and counter everything posted here. Just remember, their job is to protect the company, and that includes lies to save face. If you're thinking of applying here, reach out to the former employees and get their opinion.
