Pros

I’m giving 3 stars as there has been some movement with letting go key underperforming executives go. Buildkite continues to have some of the most talented and thoughtful engineers in the industry. The remote-first culture offers flexibility, and the product itself still has a loyal customer base thanks to its technical strengths.

Cons

Executive turnover remains a serious issue, with the recent firing of the CFO being just the latest example, though in this case, it’s a much-needed change. Her hire was a mistake from the start, and her exit feels like a step forward. What’s harder to understand is how the CRO is still in the role. Performance has been underwhelming for a long time, targets have repeatedly been missed, and the leadership style is ineffective at best. Many within the company are openly confused as to why he remains in the position when it’s clear he’s out of his depth. This inconsistency in accountability at the top sends the wrong message to the rest of the company which once was experiencing very positive growth in sales before he joined.

Pros

If this company is to be successful, the CEO needs to step down. He is impulsive and dangerous to his own company. He also does NOT like when others don’t fully agree with everything he says. If you are not a yes man, you are out. He also likes to brag about being a "Millenial CEO“ while hypocritically criticizing others on linked in. It may not be too late for Buildkite, but the fat lady is warming up. She will start singing if the CEO continues to trip over his own ego. He will learn the hard way that his employees abhor him.

Cons

Company does not live up to its values
