Pros

- Great colleagues, everyone believes in the product and how we can make language learning fun and enjoyable for our learners. - The company cares about their employees, our (mental) health and personal development. I have had opportunities to learn, grow and get promoted in a short time with a lot of support from my line manager. - 2 days/week in the office, of which 1 day is a team day which makes it great to see your team in person. - It's a great product with lots of potential - They care about our opinions, there are lots of surveys and reviews going around. - Good culture and values

Cons

- Agree with what some people said and the pay could be better. - Since the Chegg takeover, there has been more pressure (I think more on C-level), but it's dripping down to us and it's not great for morale among employees. - Communication overall could be improved. Sometimes when changes are made or focus has shifted, it's not communicated properly to the employees.

Thank you for the time you have taken to write your review. We agree that we have great colleagues in our business and we always ensure people have opportunities to grow, learn and develop throughout their career at Busuu. We have certainly experienced a period of change with the recent acquisition by Chegg and can appreciate that this may have affected some short-term morale, however the acquisition has offered some amazing opportunities and growth potential which we are receiving great feedback on! We are so glad that you are enjoying your time at Busuu!

Pros

- The new management is very nice and understanding. - I've noticed that even when I provide all the necessary information when canceling a lesson, they still have to repeat steps, likely due to company policy. - The only reason I stay is because I absolutely love my students. - It can be challenging to find a job without a degree in the TEFL industry

Cons

-Asked for a raise, completely ignored me. -Very difficult to cancel lessons. -Don't know how well you're doing as a teacher so you're in constant "competition" with other teachers to keep your position. -I've heard that they can fire you without any notice or reason. -Changed policy that you can only do 25 hours per week
