Pros
The corporate office feels like a family and can be positive if you know how to get along with others. Plenty of job security - the industry is booming in Portland. In the admin/accounting side, as long as you work hard and do a good job, you will be rewarded, but sometimes you have to ask to get what you want. Your supervisor won't necessarily notice your hard work unless you make a case for yourself. Some of the portfolio managers struggle to find work-life balance, but that's the nature of the job. Management doesn't pay too much attention to property managers' day to day work life. Working as an on-site manager can be good or bad - depends on who your property manager and owner of the property is, so your experience will vary greatly based on that.
Cons
Communication between management and staff is sometimes lacking.
