Pros

- Fortunate to work with a line manager who genuinely supports individual development and advocates for fair pay and growth opportunities. - Strong organisational focus on sustainability, community engagement, diversity & inclusion, and neurodiversity. - Exceptional flexibility for hybrid roles, supporting a healthy work-life balance.

Cons

- Some line managers could benefit from stronger people management skills, empathy and communication gaps can lead to team challenges. More consistent leadership development and clearer criteria for promotion into management roles might help. - Pay transparency and fairness could be improved with clearer structures and more open communication to build trust.

Pros

CALA is different place to work to the standard house building companies out there. There is a huge amount of pride taken in the quality of our product which is displayed via the staffs passion for working for CALA. The Work/Life Culture is great since Lockdown and a new smarter way of working has been fully embraced by the business. The five year plan is very positive and it is a very exciting time to be part of the business.

Cons

The cycle to work scheme could be improved upon, with sustainable and cost effective travel a big topic amongst staff currently. Most cycle to work schemes no longer have a cap and our one currently does not allow for electric or better quality bicycles to assist on longer journeys which would be hugely beneficial for the staff as there is not currently much available within the "cap" also using one company who only use a select couple of manufacturers (who also do not cater for the taller person).
