Pros
Although most of the national sales team has still never met face-to-face due to the Covid-19 restrictions in place during the hiring stage, we are all extremely close, speaking at least once a week as a group over Microsoft Teams - usually more.
Because of how territories and commission payout is structured, there is"silo selling". Either working completely in your own territory, or else working alongside various colleagues to bring home a whale, which is fun, exciting, and in everyone's best interest!
The best manager I've ever worked for - by a long shot. He's "hands-off" as much as I want - which is the best kind of manager in my opinion - but always a phone call (or call back that day lol) when you need him.
Pay is great.
It's not a role for someone just starting out in sales at all, but for a seasoned vet this is a great place to set roots.
Cons
Growing pains as with any company. We acquired two new companies in 2021 - one of them being a large competitor of ours, so there was a backlog of work coming back from head office for a bit - sales team pushing continuing to blast through the Canadian market and for a few months the engineers and Head Office needed to play catch up - still need some more people in key roles in Head Office to ease up bottlenecks.
Depending on where you are in Canada there is a time difference that still hasn't been smoothed out completely since Head Office and the factory are both based in Ontario - East & West coast sales teams have to accommodate for the time difference.
