Pros
You’ll accrue a lot of PTO and sick time off. Work from home option. Working in education is fulfilling. If you get a good manager, it’s easy going.
Cons
You’ll be doing the job of at least 2 people, but your manager will expect the output of a team of 3. State job, so the pay is awful. Strapped for resources. Large disconnect between departments. Reactive, not proactive. Constantly getting derailed with other “high-priority deliverables”. Very old school and traditional. No opportunity (budget) for personal growth within the company.
